How Your Support will continue to Enhance the Quality of Life for Bridgewater Home Residents
It’s Never 2 Late
It’s Never 2 Late, is a program dedicated to helping older adults realize the full benefits of today’s technology. iN2L integrates hardware, software, media, and various components necessary to allow virtually any person– regardless of background or physical or intellectual abilities- to use technology, without frustration. From using e-mail and web cams to connect with family and friends, to enjoying mind-stimulating activities, to improving hand-eye coordination as part of a rehabilitation program, elders with a wide range of physical and cognitive abilities are now enjoying technology using systems adapted especially for them. The Bridgewater Home Auxiliary has pledged to purchase three (3) additional systems in 2017.
The Resident Excursion Fund
Keeping our residents engaged in our local community and beyond is a commitment of Bridgewater Home. The Resident Excursion Fund was established in 2016 to support all residents who wish to participate in excursions–regardless of their ability to pay. Oh, the places the residents have gone! Your support makes dreams come true and makes a lasting impression on our residents.
Junior Volunteer Scholarship– New!
The BRC Junior Volunteer Program provides students ages 12-18 opportunities to volunteer in the health care industry. The program enhances quality of life for residents through intergenerational connections, and relationship building. This summer, there are 36 Junior Volunteers, and the program has expanded to include year-round opportunities.
Part of our proceeds will benefit the establishment of this Scholarship opportunity for use in post-secondary education in a human services certificate or degree program. This scholarship will assist Junior Volunteer recipients in making an impact on our local community and beyond.
Advancing the Vision:
Proceeds from Fall Festival this year will help complete our $100,000 pledge going towards the new Salon @ 302 and an outdoor patio area. These quality-of-life enhancing areas will continue to bring joy to the lives of Bridgewater Home Residents.
