United Way’s Day of Caring

Each month, BRC team members and residents work together to support a charitable initiative of some sort. This month we will participate in the United Way’s Day of Caring by doing a project at Still Meadows Enrichment Center and Camp, which provides therapeutic activities for children and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a safe, creative environment. BRC Trip: Potomac Eagle Scenic Railroad

We will travel to Romney, WV where we will board the Potomac Eagle for a 3-hour trip that goes southbound through the Trough to Sycamore Bridge and back. The New Resident Dinner is one of the Village Association’s biggest annual events, when it celebrates the addition of new Independent Living residents and new team members from the previous year. This year’s event has the added attraction of affording a sneak peek of the newly renovated Custer Room, with new tableware and other enticements. (The Custer Dining Room won’t formally re-open for meals until mid-November.)

Halloween: Trick or Treating in Hallways

Halloween is HUGE in our Assisted Living and Nursing Households. BRC team member and resident families are invited to bring their little ones to traipse through the hallways and households for a joyous round of trick-or-treat. It’s such a popular event that sweet treats are collected for a month in advance so that residents have enough to hand out. It’s a joyful experience for all involved.

Veterans Breakfast and Program
